ISD Organizes Graduation Ceremony 2021

Indian School Darsait organized Graduation Ceremony on a virtual platform for their outgoing batch of Class XII 2020-21 at a solemn function held on 21 June 2021. Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman was the Chief Guest. Mr. Sebastian Chungath, President and esteemed Members of SMC were among the dignitaries who attended the function.

Starting with an Invocation song by the students, the function entered the ambience of welcome wherein Mr. Alexander Gee Varghese, Vice Principal, Senior School extended a propitious note to everyone. He gave a bird’s eye view of the achievements of the students and the laurels that they had brought to the institution. He also urged the students to equip themselves with adequate skills and knowledge to face the challenges and to excel in their career by upholding the values of life as stated by great scientist Albert Einstein.

Addressing the young graduates as ‘Friends’ Mr. Sebastian Chungath summed up the fact of life through a fiction story which lead to two options: first being ‘Choice’ and second being ‘Trust’. Quoting Annie Johnson Flint, the president gave a complete summarization and a good introspection of one’s life to make choice and to have trust in oneself.

The Class Teachers Mrs. Roilet Sherlin Noronha (12 A), Mrs. Shobha Krishnan (12 B), Dr. Kavitha Prabhu (12 C) & and Mr. Joseph Martin (12 D) introduced their classes to the audience and read out proudly a brief citation of students to acknowledge their performance in curricular and extracurricular activities apart from other accomplishments. They further urged not to kill their uniqueness by comparing them with others and congratulated all for their hard work. Akarsh Vincent, and Abhirami Rajeev, Deputy Head Boy & Deputy Head Girl respectively enumerated their reflections and memories in a heart throbbing manner. 

Felicitating the students, the Chief Guest Dr. Sivakumar Manickam called upon them to recharge and revamp themselves with more vigour and enthusiasm to face the challenges in the journey of their life. He further advised them to use time constructively, study hard and take responsibility for their education by setting goals, to believe in themselves, and to script their own destinies and to be good ambassadors of the school.

Mr. Ajit Vasudevan, Convener & Head - Academic and ICT Subcommittees in his keynote address stated that for the first time a graduation ceremony was happening on a virtual platform. He said, “It is a time of celebration and triumph and it marks the end of one phase and beginning of the next phase. It is a very proud moment for the graduates, parents and teachers who have all played their part in the end result”. He lauded the efforts of teachers who made another successful batch of students explore their talents.

Delivering the valedictory message Mr. Amar Srivastava Principal, reminded the outgoing students that the present batch was exceptional and unprecedented. He counseled them to respect and honour the teachers and parents who were the pillars and the culmination of their years of hard work and the ensuing success. He exhorted the young minds to always speak the truth, walk in the ways of duty, accomplish success, believe in themselves and have faith in God, and remember their alma mater with love.

Mrs. Beena Govind, Assistant Vice Principal, Senior School expressed her profuse gratitude to all for their benign presence on this auspicious occasion and for making the graduation ceremony a memorable one. Interspersed with pious songs by the school choir the entire programme was live streamed on YouTube. A good number of parents, well-wishers and other stakeholders watched the ceremony with spark of interest and appreciation.
