Indian School Darsait organized yet another Online Competition, KNOCK OUT COVID 19 –a family skit competition for ISD family as a part of the Parent Outreach Programme during this global Pandemic.  The brochure giving all details of the competition was sent to the parents on 29 June and the last date to submit their entries was 14 July. In the meantime, the family skit meant to ensure the participation of parents/grandparents and children was well received. Accordingly the school received six entries which were scripted, acted, video graphed in ideal settings and directed by the parents themselves.

The competition which was conceived and intended to make ISD family stress-free was live-streamed on Google Meet, Facebook and YouTube on 24 July from 5 pm onwards thus helping lovers of acting all over to enjoy.  The live programme included a formal inauguration, the adjudication of the competition followed by the declaration of results.

Mr. Alexander Gee Varghese, Acting Principal extended a cordial welcome to everyone attending the event through the virtual platform. In his inaugural address, Mr. Sebastian Chungath, Vice President SMC appreciated the parents for their response to the maiden venture of its kind and commended their unstinted support to the school activities. He further congratulated all behind it for spending their valuable time and putting in every effort for making it a grand success. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jaikish Pavithran, President SMC observed that ‘it is an opportunity and platform for the ISD family to showcase their feelings, emotions and ideas creatively and with a tinge of innovation’ while Mr. Vinod Kumar, Member SMC & Head, Parents Relations Subcommittee, sharing his own experience as an actor for a short period of time, stressed on the power and passion of acting industry for positive transformation in people.

The presentation of the skits was a new and highly enriching experience. The theme, acting, dialogue delivery and the message conveyed brought variety, beauty and expertise of each team. They included the need to help the needy, the importance of staying together and getting engaged in all activities together, the precautions to be taken and guidelines to be followed during this period, exhortation to spend quality time with children and becoming part of their indoor games, emphasis on helping the mother-- the pillar of the house and the development of life skills through various chores at home.

The audience also had glimpses of the School Result –AISSCE & AISSE, 2020, the Online Classes and the newly launched ISD E Payment Portal through short videos used as fillers.

Mr. Ajit Vasudevan, Convenor, SMC declared the prize winners. ZEE’s FAMILY (Shameer Parambil, Hasina Bawa, Ziyana Shameer,Grade 7E and Mehreen Shameer, Grade 3 A) won the first position. DESERT ROSES (Harish Dayanandan, Sony Harish and Hemanth Harish, Grade 3E) secured the second position while AMATEUR ACTORS (Dinesh Thulasidoss, Anita Dinesh and Magandha Dinesh, Grade 10E) came third. Besides LITTLE PETS (Murali Krishnakumar, Prasannalakshmi Bavahararam,Deeksha Murali  2C and Lashveen Murali 5C) got the consolation prize. Dinesh Thulasidoss of AMATEUR ACTORS was adjudged as the Best Actor while Krishnapriya Sunilkumar (6A) and Harisankar S(4F) of TEAM ROSE won the Life Skill Achievement Award. Moreover, Dhanvi Veerendra (3B) of STAY HOME FLINTO secured Encouragement Award for Humor. E-Certificates will be sent to all the prize winners and special participation certificates to all the participants.

Mrs. Blessy Diana Shijin, Member, SMC and Head Co-Curricular & Cultural Subcommittee felicitated ISD family for taking the event close to their hearts and making it a remarkable one. She further expressed her happiness over the equal participation of teachers, parents and students as well behind its execution. Mrs. Geeta Chauhan, Vice Principal, Primary Section proposed the vote of thanks. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude -- right from the President to all those who sweated and toiled hard in one way or other in planning, coordinating and organizing the event thereby making it a booming success.
