The ‘Investiture Ceremony’ for the academic year 2022-23 was held on 13th June 2022 with great solemnity in the Senior School Auditorium of Indian School Darsait.
The ceremony was attended by the proud parents of the elected Student Council Members, where the latter were bestowed upon with the responsibility. The ceremony began with the procession, prayer and lighting of the lamp. Vice Principal, Mrs. Geeta Chauhan welcomed one and all present on the occasion.
Mrs. Ashwini Sawrikar, Finance Director, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, the Chief Guest awarded badges to the Ceremonial Heads and General Prefects while Mr. Sebastian Chungath, President, SMC honoured them with sashes. The Chief Guest in her keynote address reinstated the qualities of a leader and inspired the young buds with an energetic speech.
Principal, Mr. Amar Srivastava introduced the Ceremonial Heads and administered the oath. The respective House Counsellors bestowed the House Prefects with badges and sashes. Mr. Sebastian Chungath in his address shared the thoughts of wonderful leaders and enlightened the young leaders with anecdotes highlighting the seven virtues of Leadership.
In his motivational speech, Mr. Ajit Vasudevan, Convenor, SMC, thanked the parents for taking time out to be there for their children, to watch them take baby steps towards effective leadership. The motivation given by Mr. Vasudevan added the twinkle in the eyes of the students who stood extra proud to be leaders, having achieved this on their merit.
The Head Boy, Magandha Dinesh pledged to uphold the honour and glory of the institution. The Cultural Secretary, Rebecca Ann Jacob, proposed vote of thanks.
The ceremony came to a close with the choral singing of the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India.
