Patriotic Fervour Marks the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence at ISD

Indian School Darsait organised the 76th Independence Day celebration with patriotic zeal and zest coupled with enthusiasm to mark ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Mr Ajit Vasudevan, Convenor, Head Academic and Staff Welfare and Grievances Subcommittee, School Management Committee was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme witnessed the benign presence of other esteemed Members of SMC, Principal, various dignitaries, staff, students, parents and well-wishers of ISD. The celebration commenced with a patriotic rendition of the National Anthem.

 

Magandha Dinesh, Head Boy of the school welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest gave an insight into the greatness of India as a nation and the progress that the nation achieved since its Independence. He read out the excerpts of the message delivered by the Honourable President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu on the eve of Independence Day. Quoting from the excerpts, he stated that India has achieved milestone as a nation because the nation was celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The President’s speech urged the fellow citizens to understand their fundamental duties towards the country. It also emphasised the significance of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ and a host of government policies and exercises launched to add to the verve and implemented for the betterment and progress of the nation which in turn will help all to fulfil the dreams of our galaxy of freedom fighters.

The Patriotic song presented by the little ones from the Primary Section boosted the morale and rekindled pride in who we are, and what we represent, as a great nation. The students from primary section presented the glimpses of the journey for freedom and the progress we made through ‘Nav Bharat’ which symbolizes the new developments like Digital India, Skilled India, Fit India, etc replete with energy, dynamism and transformational ethos.

The melodious rendition of the Patriotic song by Senior Section students enthralled the audience. The primary and senior section students presented a group dance titled ‘Shreshta Bharat’ reaffirming to build sustained and structured cultural connections between people of different regions in India. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Bhavika M Biju, Head Girl of the school.
