Indian School Darsait organized an Iftar Get-together at the Senior School Auditorium on April 10, 2023, to promote the spirit of oneness - the true essence of the holy month of Ramadan. The event was hosted by the School Management Committee (SMC) and was a very special evening that brought together people from various communities to celebrate unity in diversity and strengthen the spiritual bonding by sending across a message of brotherhood during the holy month of Ramadan.
The occasion was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Hamed Bin Saud Al-Hasani (Sheikh Darsait), Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors – Indian Schools in Oman, Hashil Bin Habib Al-Hasani, Mohamed Bin Salim Al-Hasani, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Hasani, other distinguished Members of Board of Directors, Members of School Management Committee, Principals from various Indian Schools as well as Mr. Amar Srivastava, Principal - ISD, Administrators, Omani staff of the School along with their families, all teaching and non-teaching staff, and members of the local community.
Mr. Vijaya Saravanan Sankaran, President SMC, extended a cordial welcome to the gathering. The event began with the recitation of ‘The Fathiha’ by Mr. Haneef, a Teacher in Arabic, and was followed by the beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Afra of VII A. Mr. Shalimar Moideen, Vice President, SMC highlighted the importance of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. A variety of food items were served to suit the taste buds during the fasting month, and an elaborate arrangement for prayers was also made at the school.
The turnout was extremely amazing as the invitation was very well responded to. Around two hundred and fifty people attended the get-together and enjoyed the delicacies. The President, SMC, and the Principal thanked the attendees from the core of their hearts for keeping up the spirit of Fasting and Iftar Get-together. The event was a testimony to the assembly of multifarious cultures and traditions and served as a reminder of the importance of promoting unity in diversity and brotherhood.
