INDIA @ 75 RESONATE @ ISD

Indian School Darsait commemorated the 75th Independence Day of India with virtual celebrations on Sunday, 15 August 2021 at 7:30 a.m. with patriotic fervour, zest and zeal. Mr. Afroz Ahmad, Treasurer, Head of Finance & Planning Subcommittee, and Head of Staff Welfare & Grievances Subcommittee, School Management Committee was the Chief Guest on the occasion.  Mr. Sebastian Chungath, President and other esteemed Members of the School Management Committee; Mr. Amar Srivastava, Principal along with Team ISD, parents, students and a good number of well-wishers of the school attended the celebration.

The event started with a melodious rendition of the National Anthem of India. It was followed by welcome address by the Principal who extended a cordial welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries and all invitees. He recalled the sacrifices of great freedom fighters and those of unsung heroes of the nation and urged everyone to be mindful of placing India first, in their thoughts, words and actions and to rededicate our lives for the progress of our nation. He implored the future citizens of this great country – the students, to pledge their devotion and contribution in giving back to the society and to their Motherland.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest congratulated everyone on this great occasion. He said, “India has achieved respect by taking the path of democracy and everyone is a stakeholder and is responsible.” He urged all to uphold unity in diversity, practice virtues and principles of the nation with service to the motherland as their foremost duty. He concluded by reciting the Indian National Pledge – an oath of allegiance to the Republic of India.

Mr. Sebastian Chungath, President School Management Committee greeted everyone and read out the Honourable President of India, Sri Ram Nath Kovind’s message on the eve of Independence Day of India.  

The other highlights of this Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav were a patriotic melody, which was a soulful tribute to the great freedom fighters and ignited the spirit of love for our motherland. This was followed by Vande Mataram, a dazzlingly spectacular fusion dance that was an impressive show of the rich and varied culture of India. An oral presentation of the beautiful journey of remarkable achievements and milestones post-Independence filled every heart with patriotism and pride.   Mrs. Geeta Chauhan, Vice Principal Primary Section proposed the vote of thanks and congratulated team ISD for making the celebration a grand success.
