Indian School Darsait reverberated with patriotic spirit as the school celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and solemnity at the Senior School Auditorium. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Shalimar Moideen, President of the School Management Committee, along with SMC members, parents, students, and staff.
The celebration started with the National Anthem of India, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Akshay Ajith, Head Boy. The Chief Guest then read excerpts from the Independence Day message of the President of India, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.
The cultural programme commenced with ‘Echoes of Patriotism’, a melodious medley by the Primary School Choir that earned resounding applause for its heartfelt tribute to the brave hearts safeguarding the nation’s honour and sovereignty.
This was followed by ‘Janani Bharati’, a graceful group dance by the Senior Section, showcasing the pride and glory of the nation. The Senior School Choir then presented ‘Unity in Diversity’, celebrating India’s cultural richness through a song.
A highlight of the event was the thematic dance performance, ‘Veero Ki Shaurya Gaatha’ by the Primary Section, paying heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices and bravery of the nation’s freedom fighters. The students brought history to life honoring the iconic leaders who stood steadfast, fought fearlessly, and gifted us the precious light of freedom.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the Head Girl, Keyina Mariam Sojan. The event was a perfect blend of patriotism, culture, and respect for India’s glorious heritage, leaving everyone inspired to contribute towards the nation’s progress.
