Educators from Indian School Darsait earned distinguished recognition at the prestigious Navin Asher
Kazi Awards Ceremony for Excellence in Teaching 2025–26, hosted at Indian School Muscat on 28
January. The ceremony celebrated outstanding teachers from across Indian Schools in Oman,
applauding their remarkable dedication and impactful contributions to the field of education.
The ceremony was graced by Shri Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary of CBSE, India, as Chief Guest and
Keynote Speaker, alongside distinguished dignitaries from the Ministry of Education, Sultanate of
Oman and CBSE’s regional leadership. Presided over by Shri Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman of the
Board of Directors, the evening celebrated the spirit of educational excellence and innovation.
Indian School Darsait is proud to share that Mrs. Khan Sameena Mannan (Foundation Stage) and Mrs.
Bindu Ranjit (Preparatory Stage) received the Excellence in Teaching Awards. In addition, several
teachers were honoured with Certificates of Recognition for their outstanding contributions: Mrs.
Leena Girish, Mrs. Asiya Tabassum, and Mrs. Icchapurapu Gayatri Aparna from the Foundation Stage;
Mrs. Lakshmi Shekhawat, Mrs. Sindhu Kadangot, Mrs. Bindu Suresh Kumar, and Mrs. Divya Hareesha
Poojary from the Preparatory Stage; Mrs. Harjinder Kaur Hara from the Middle Section; Mrs. Fathima
P. Aliyar from the Senior Section; and Ms. Naosheen Zaman as Special Educator/Counsellor.
Furthermore, Mrs. Sowmya Nair secured Third Position in the competition category based on the
theme – “Transformative Teaching – Changing Lives Beyond the Classroom”. The Principal of the
school, Mr. Amar Srivastava was bestowed with Long Service Recognition Award on this occasion.
Mr. Shalimar Moideen, President of the School Management Committee, congratulated the
awardees, saying: “we are proud of our teachers whose dedication has been recognized at this
prestigious forum. Their achievements reflect the vision of Indian School Darsait and we encourage
them to continue inspiring students with passion and care.” He was joined by Mr. Shebeer
Shamsuddin, Convenor, SMC and Dr. Ashish Rastogi, Head of CoE in Learning and Teaching
Subcommittee, SMC, whose presence added further encouragement and pride to the occasion.
The School Management Committee along with the Principal and school community, celebrates this
proud moment and reaffirms its commitment to excellence, innovation and lifelong learning.
